TIP 3) MAKE USE OF CAMERA ASSISTIVE GRID

There is a really important feature in your phone which is used by every professional photographer. That is 3*3 grid. It is really necessary to use this in order to frame the shot and also adjust and align your highlighted object perfectly. You can use the lines forming the grid to align to your subject. It is greatly necessary to use this if you want your pictures to look symmetric and good. Framing your shots perfectly is always necessary.

TIP 4) IMAGE SCALE/ASPECT RATIO

This mistake is done by many mobile users. Your phone has a image scale option where most people choose fullscreen or wide crop (16:9). It will shoot the image according to your display aspect ratio. Well you should'nt do that because, most of the part of image will be cropped out based on your phones display aspect ratio. As we know the most general aspect ratio is 4:3 prefer choosing that. You can even choose 1:1 scale if you prefer to upload in social media, As most apps prefer those ratios. You may not have problem of pictures being cropped out or so.

TIP 5) STABILITY

Stability = Better pictures. Yes! if you want to shoot sharp and crisp picture you need to hold your phone in stable position to avoid shakes. It is always recommended to use a tripod or a good Gorilla pod to mount your phone while shooting great pictures. You can do it with your hand if you are stable enough.

TIP 6) KNOW YOUR SUBJECT

Know what your shooting!. Select an object or a part of an object as your main subject. Don't frame unnecessary parts in your image. Keep you picture as simple as possible. Don't make it confusing to understand or to know what you are trying to show. Placing the subject in the frame plays a vital role. You should know where and how to place the subject in the frame. Subject should be highlighted in the picture. While placing the subject in the picture you can place according to your own creativity or use the rule of the thirds.

TIP 7) RULE OF THE THIRDS

How to Use the Rule of Thirds in Photography Composition

Basically this is done using the 3*3 grid. We divide the frame into 9 parts and place the subject such that subject lies in the intersection point of any two horizontal and vertical line or along the any one line itself. As from the given image we can see the subject is dog and its head is placed in the upper right intersection and the whole body is along the right vertical line. This rule is essential if you want to frame your shot really good.

TIP 8) FOCUS ON WHAT YOU NEED

Focus on your subject!. While you have your subject, click on that subject and let your phone focus on that. Focusing makes you subject or that part of the picture to be highlighted with sharpness and exposure. Most of the time your phone autofocus will be accurate but you are always open to use manual focusing under manual settings. Focusing can be done on any part of the image. Always remember to focus based on your preference.

TIP 9) EXPOSURE BALANCE

Exposure balancing is really a important part. It can decide how bright or dark your image appear after its been clicked. More the exposure more the light falls on your image sensor and more bright the image. Choosing the right exposure is always necessary to balance the lighting in your picture.
Your smartphone camera adjusts it automatically. You are always open to experiment in manual setting.

TIP 10) CAPTURE

Now everything is made perfect, time the shot perfectly. Reduce shaking the phone while capturing as it may lead to distorted or shaky image. It is always preferred to wait for a second or two after clicking because, your camera might be still capturing the image. The time it takes to capture depends on your settings and it varies for different setting. high exposure shots often take more capturing time than low exposure shots. So be patient! let your camera capture each and every detail slowly.

TIP 11) HDR AND NIGHT MODE

These are the features in your phone if used perfectly, can take your pictures to next level. HDR is the feature where your phone captures multiple photos at the same time with different exposures and setting, later it combines it to form a single image which will have greater details, lightings and enhanced quality. It is preferred to use this setting when your lighting conditions have more shadow spots or too bright spots. NIGHT MODE is a feature used to capture images in night-light or low-light conditions. Night mode takes time to capture and can produce amazing results. It takes more light to the sensor and enhances the image with software processing. Hint :- Google camera app can shoot amazing night modes.

There are many feature in smartphones like potrait, wide angle etc .You can experiment with those according to your needs.

There are various other apps but, I found these 2 apps are best among those. I personally use snapseed from google. If you guys need a detailed tutorial on how to use snapseed do comment below. I'll try to make a separate blog on that.
